So, what is a Website, really?

    A website is a collection of pages on the World Wide Web, an integral part of the internet.

    Website Builder includes these separate components in every website we produce:

• Obtaining the land on which to build - this is called 'hosting'. It is space on a computer (a server) that is permanently connected to the internet, making your website available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• Content writing - either you write it or we write it. But someone has to provide the 'blueprint foundation'. It's like framing a house into a certain number of rooms with given purposes.

• Elements - graphics, forms, links, shopping cart, etc. These are like the fixtures that allow you to do what you want to in each room. The sink in the kitchen, the tub in the bathroom, the closet in the bedroom, and so on.

• Designing - think of this as calling in the decorator. Choosing carpet, wallpaper, colors, textures, etc.

• Coding - actually building the house, that is, putting the above pieces together into the finished product.

• There's lots more to making it an effective living environment than just building the house! You need insurance (backups), maintenance, getting involved in your neighborhood and community (networking), getting your phone lines installed so people can reach you (search engines), etc.

• As the 'architect'and 'builder', we can advise on the pro's and con's of the various components above, but the choice is really up to you, the client. From this, it should be clear that the project is multi-phased and complex—it cannot be done overnight.
