Equine Chiropractic
An Overview

Balance is essential for health. When there is balance, body processes function harmoniously the way nature intended. When balance is disturbed, symptoms arise. Because the body is a package deal, when one aspect is out of balance, the whole animal is affected.

We have all experienced this. When we have a cold, our head hurts, our eyes burn, our nose runs or becomes stuffy, we can’t sleep, we can’t concentrate, and we become irritable.

The primary goal of treatment should be to restore balance because then (and only then) can the body return to health. Symptoms are merely a reflection of disorder; they are not the primary problem.

Chiropractic therapy can help an animal to become more balanced by removing interferences to proper nervous system function. All body systems can function better when there is a free flow of nerve impulses through the spinal cord to all parts of the body. Removing nervous system interference can also facilitate the medical treatment of allergies and other chronic conditions and shorten the recovery time after injury or surgery.

Dr. Priest is certified in animal chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She has received additional training in Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T), Network, Logan Basic, and other chiropractic methods.

Dr. Priest has also received training in a variety of bioenergetic techniques, including Reiki, which work with the electromagnetic fields of the body to promote balance and healing. Bioenergetics can also provide additional diagnostic information about problems an animal is experiencing.

Dr. Priest has combined these two disciplines to create gentle, effective methods which balance the body’s physical, mental, emotional, and energetic components to increase flexibility, relieve pain, enhance performance, and improve quality of life.
