When I opened the web site and listened to the music, I thought of Dr. Charles Walkem playing the grand piano at Angelus Temple... Those were the days when we had real music and loved it...

It is just the touch of his hands on the keys that bring back such sweet memories.

Have a blessed day...

IN RESPONSE TO "WILLIAM REYNOLDS AT THE KIMBALL ORGAN" PAGE:

Just a note to thank you for taking the time to establish this great heritage website. I don't know of another denomination that continues to keep their heritage going as does the Foursquare Church.

Even though I am not a Foursquare Church member, I follow this with great intrigue. Why, because I married this wonderful former Foursquare man and Organist of Angelus Temple for 8 years (Bill Reynolds).

In our early dating days during 1958-59, I spent many hours at AngelusTemple on Sunday evening listening to the 10:30 p.m. organ program going out over radio station KFSG which we are sorry no longer exists. Or, if I could not be there, I listened at home. Wherever I listened, I had such great admiration for such a wonderful talent and received joy listening to those marvelous melodies. During that time, I often heard wonderul messages from great ministers.

Naturally, Bill and I have witnessed many changes in the structure of Angelus Temple and we are so very grateful that the mighty Organ has been maintained and is still continuing to be upgraded to its original status - what a landmark.

Dear Friends,

What a great website! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share with the dear friends of our Foursquare family.

The photos and stories brought back wonderful memories of some of the happiest days of my life. I grew up in Angelus Temple and I will forever cherish my Foursquare Heritage.

Hello,

This is the best thing since pop-corn and sliced bread. As I see it there are many stories that a lot of us old timers should relate to the younger generations; things many of us went through in this Foursquare Organization, which I feel is the greatest in the world. I may be prodigious but I have been in it all my life. When my mom and dad were saved at Angelus Temple in 1933, I was just 3 years old. So it's all I know and I'm glad for that. I can remember going to revivals, conventions and operas at Angelus Temple, and at times my brothers and I would go over to Echo Park and play. We would take bread and sticks to make fishing poles and our hooks were safety pins. We could catch fish and then just flick them off and back into the water.

We kids were just like all the rest we liked to play at Angelus Temple, run all over the building and try to get away from the ushers.

Putting this web site together will be very helpful to the ones we leave behind. Some day they will read these stories and then realize that we were normal.

So Keep up the good work and I hope to read more soon.

Thank you all so much.
