Opportunities with the Foundry Democracy Project

What can you do? A lot!

Non-D.C. Residents

If you are a not a resident of the District, you have a lot of power to help us in D.C. For, unlike us, you have representatives in Congress!

  • Organize letter writing through your church or other community group.
  • Tell your Representatives and Senators that you support voting representation for Residents of the District of Columbia.
  • Demand to know where your congressional representatives stand on the issue, and tell them you will hold them accountable at the polls.
  • Get your church, synagogue, mosque or other community of faith to make a statement of support for District voting rights (see a copy of the Baltimore-Washington Conference's Resolution). Make this resolution known to your elected representatives.
  • Contact the Foundry Democracy Project for more information.

You can contact your Congressman by e-mail or by mail or your Senator by mail or by e-mail. Let your representatives in Washington know that you agree - the people of the nation's capital are entitled to democratic rights!

D.C. Residents

  • Go to your community of faith to educate and get support for democratic rights for D.C.
  • Reach out to people outside the District to get their support.
  • Utilize your churches, synagogues, mosques or other faith community to network with other congregations outside the District. Encourage them to support D.C. and our right to vote. Get them to make their support known to the Congress.

Contact the Foundry Democracy Project for more information and to get involved.
