Any serious truth-seeker will do well to purchase a copy of this book, even though it cannot be read in any ordinary way. Leonard Horowitz has attempted the impossible by addressing in one volume both the lay audience and his peers in the medical profession. In theory he succeeds, because anyone with sufficient commitment and a basic education can, with time, digest the material. Nevertheless, in practice this means that perhaps one reader in one-thousand will be able to tolerate his reliance on an unrelenting alphabet soup of abbreviations (HIV, CDC, ELISA, NCI, EBV....approximately 120 in all). Be sure to photocopy the four pages titled "Abbreviations" before you proceed.

This book is exceptionally well-researched, and its nearly 600 pages are complete with many of the original documents Dr. Horowitz unearthed. This reader has, within the space of a few months, perused most of the material; however exhausting, each session led to a painful sort of enlightenment. Perhaps Sean McBride, former foreign minister of Ireland, most aptly expressed why this might be:

For any American, it is painful to read clear evidence that our government, operating in our good name, has very likely been guilty of "directing lethal biological weapons experiments and public health policies" (Dr. Horowitz inserted this bracketed allegation in the above quote), both here in America and abroad, with reckless disregard for human life.

Dr. Horowitz leads us to the harrowing conclusion that these lethal biological weapons experiments have, at best, resulted in the accidental release of the AIDS and Ebola viruses from the laboratories where they were created. At worst, and perhaps more likely, the release of these laboratory-produced pathogens was intentional.

Would that Dr. Horowitz were less convincing so the reader could, with relief, dismiss his allegations.
