Large Birds

Some of my Dragonflies are digiscoped, that is taken through high-powered field scope, but many are simply close-up macro or zoom shots using my pocket digital camera.  There are 98 Odonate species known to inhabit OR and WA, of which 70 are in both states.

This Common Green Darner's wings did not fully develop after it's adult emergence, and it therefore could not fly.  This is not uncommon with Dragonflies. Taken at Rowe Creek Reservoir near Fossil, OR 7-28-06
