HAVE MORE EFFECTIVE FOOD NOT BOMBS MEETINGS

Making decisions by consensus could be one the most revolutionary skills used by Food Not Bombs. Improving our process may help us in our effort to build a new society. Please consider hosting a workshop on Consensus.

Food Not Bombs co-founder C.T. Butler is available to assist your chapter with its meeting skills. He has 20 years experience working in groups using Consensus and he is the co-author of On Conflict and Consensus which defines Formal Consensus and Food Not Bombs - How to Feed the Hungry and Build Community.  Our goal is to encourage more effective group process in every Food Not Bombs chapter. This spring and summer C.T. will be able to hold workshops in your area. See if your group and the chapters in the surrounding area would be interested in taking C.T.'s workshop and give us a call.

Please call A Food Not Bombs Menu at 1-800-884-1136 to set up a workshop on Consensus with C.T. Butler.

He is a father, a political activist, a nonviolent conflict resolution mediator and trainer, and vegetarian chef. In 1980, he co-founded the Food Not Bombs collective in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is also a former Cambridge Peace Commissioner.

CONSENSUS WEBPAGE

Objectives of the Workshop

Each participant will receive the experience and skill necessary to organize and facilitate a meeting using Formal Consensus. The techniques used to encourage respect for diversity, creative conflict resolution, and self-empowerment will be explored utilizing role plays.

These role plays will provide experiential learning on such topics as: agenda planning, facilitation techniques, small group discussion, and evaluation. The beginner as well as the experienced practitioner of consensus will find this workshop stimulating and valuable.

The workshop runs 3-6 hours and is based upon C.T. Butler's book, On Conflict and Consensus.
