SOME PRAYERS TO HELP US
Author Unknown
August 29, 2004

A woman wrote to Ann Landers asking for Cardinal Cushing€(tm)s €oePrayer for Bad Times€ which helped her pull herself together when she first read it several years ago. €oeI need it more than ever now. Please try to find it and run it again. Thank you.€ Here it is:

Dear God: Help me be a good sport in this game of life. I don€(tm)t ask for an easy place in the lineup. Put me anywhere. I only ask that I can give 100 percent of everything I have. If all the hard drives seem to come my way, I thank you for the compliments. Help me remember that you never send a player more trouble than he can handle. And help me Lord, accept the bad breaks as part of the game. May I always play on the square, no matter what others do. Help me study the Book so I€(tm)ll know the rules. Finally God, if the natural turn of events goes against me and I€(tm)m benched for sickness or old age, help me to accept that as part of the game too. Keep me from whimpering that I got a raw deal. And when I finish the final inning, I ask for no laurels. All I want is to believe in my heart that I played as well ad I could and what I didn€(tm)t let you down.€

And how about this as MY DAILY CREED.

Let me be a little kinder,
Let me be a little blinder
To the faults of those about me.
Let me praise a little more,
Let me be, when I am weary,
Just a little bit more cherry.
Let me serve a little better,
Those that I am striving for,
Let me be a little braver
When temptations bid me weaver.
Let me strive a little harder
To be all that I should be.
Let me be a little meeker,
With the brother that is weaker,
Let think more of my neighbor
And little less of me.
