Friends Of  The Eastern Caribbean is an affiliate organization of the National Peace Corps Association.  It is open to the approximately 3,500 Peace Corps Volunteers who have served in the Eastern Caribbean and any other person shall be eligible for membership upon payment of the membership fee.

From the FOTEC By-Laws:

 "The purpose of the Corporation is to develop a newsletter to provide Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and other interested parties with information about countries in the Eastern Caribbean; to develop contacts with those countries; to participate in projects which will benefit the people of those countries; to provide a network for Eastern Caribbean RPCVs; to provide support for PCVs on their way to the Eastern Caribbean; to help carry out the third goal of Peace Corps, "to bring the world back home;" to help support the National Council of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers".

"The Corporation shall accomplish its purpose by:

1. maintaining communications by way of periodic informational publications, mailings and open meetings with the membership so as to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas amongst them and between the membership and the public at large.

2. maintaining an office to serve as a central location for information of interest to the membership.

3. organizing, publicizing and conducting meetings, symposia and special events relating to Peace Corps activities, accomplishments and experiences.

4. engaging in such other activities as the Corporation from time to time determines shall further its goals."

Our financial policies follow our organizations purpose, with expenditures made only for administrative expenditures (mostly newsletter costs) and special projects in Host Countries.  No expenditures are made for wages, travel, entertainment or meals. Even this web site is hosted on donated space.  During 2007 three funding requests were received for Mini Grants.  See special projects for an application.

Membership in Friends Of The Eastern Caribbean is $15 per year for an individual or $22.50 for a family where both spouses are returned volunteers and can be a member of the NPCA for $25.  In either case dues should be sent to the NPCA.  We encourage you to stay in touch, bring the world home, be a  member and help support worthy projects in the Eastern Caribbean.
