My favorite year for women's' clothing is 1906. But I'm also fascinated with the styles dating from the 1840's till about 1912. I've viewed thousands of photographs and read everything I can get my hands on regarding women's fashions from that period in history. You really get a sense of how people actually dressed by studying old photographs rather than looking at fashion plates from the period.

I'd like to share with you some fascinating facts about the way people dressed in America and how their clothing reflected their daily lives. Women's fashions, like today, changed at a fast pace, while men basically had the same look for longer periods of time. I'm mostly interested in women's and girl's fashions, but I may get into men's and boy's fashions as an aside.
