Dr. Simon Brill is a plastic surgeon. Three years ago, he performed an experimental procedure on a Mr. Leslie Hunziger which went horribly wrong, leaving him hideously disfigured. Hunziger has been plotting revenge, and turns to Blue Moon for help. Hunziger wants David and Maddie to dig up some dirt on Dr. Brill, to prove that his surgical mistake was deliberate so that Hunziger can sue the doctor right out of his practice.
Somewhat reluctantly, Maddie and David begin investigating and discover that Dr. Brill is in the business of making plain women beautiful, having love affairs with them and then dumping them and moving on. One such woman is Brill's assistant, Nurse Saundra. Another, they are startled to discover, is Hunziger's wife Michelle.
They return to Mr. Hunziger to deliver the news, and he is thrilled. Now he feels that he really has the ammunition he needs to destroy the doctor professionally. Maddie and David end up following his wife that night to collect more evidence that the two are having an affair – only to find Dr. Brill dead in his office. Saundra, Michelle and Leslie Hunziger all show up to claim credit for killing him, but they're all too late: the doctor was dead before any of them had arrived.
