Unless otherwise noted, the CD includes all of the images shown.

The Jamestown Fire Department began as a group of separate volunteer fire companies, who often competed with one another.  A “Great Fire” destroyed several blocks of Jamestown’s downtown area in 1910.  The following year, the volunteer departments were disbanded, and the city-wide paid department was begun. The CD includes  the department's horse-drawn apparatus and  the Great Fire of  1910.

THE resource for those interested in the history of the department is Transition in Red
, by Lt. Leo E. Duliba.  For purchasing information, contact the Morton Club Beneficiary Association, c/o Fire Department, Municipal Building, Jamestown, NY  14701 or visit the Fenton History Center site.
