I went to cfr school at millington in 10 of 92
then off to the rock 12/92 while there i was on team spirit in pohang.
I left the rock 12/93 to go to the point. I finished out my tour there 23jun1996.
i was a Cpl when I got out . I should have been a Sgt but a certain LtCol. didn't think he should reward his NCO's for streeking throught the barn after hours while on duty.
I have been on the job as a firefighter/paramedic for Fairfax County Fire&Rescue for 5 yrs now I'm at Co.29 In tysons corner so if anybody is in the area stop by. thanks Mike Sease NREMT-p

William J Sparks
My name is William J Sparks, I served from 1985-1991. I was at MCAS El Torro for 5 years. Then in dessert storm served on a little known island called Ie Shima. I was the Asst. Fire Chief at the time and the second group of USMC personnel to serve there. We took it over from the Air Force because of its remote area of operations. Thus the name OSD Ie Shima. As far as I know we still have Marine's there. While I was there we only had 3 CFR personnel and 2 locals. The total number of Marines was only 12 with the OIC and the NCOIC. We had a 3000 ft. Runway that was made out of crushed coral that would land C-130's. While Dessert Storm was going on we were the brief sight for the Green Berets A teams that were leaving for Kuwait. Anyway not many people know of this area and thought it would be good info you might be able to use. If I can help in any way just E-Mail me at FireMed216@AOL.com. Currently I am a firefighter/paramedic with Nederland TX. Local 3339/
