Parker, BillI served with the El Toro crash crew back in 1946 to 1949 and then again from 1950 through 1951 and enjoyed every day. We also spent a fair amount of time fighting wild fire in the mountains. many good stories there too

l served from 85-89 and again as a guest appearence in Desert Storm. l went to the lsland and then off to NAS Millington then off to MCAS EL TORO....you know how the CFR is but believe it or not l went to 9 crashes and one of them during an air show made it Rescue 911....for Desert Storm l ended up in MCAS NEW RIVER for a short uneventful stint...Currently l am a Lieutenant for the City of New Rochelle,NY Local 273..a Paramedic as well...The fire service is the best place to be and my start was in the Corps so l owe the Corps a debt of gratitude....Stay safe all
I will miss my 2 friends from the FDNY who gave their lives in the line of duty in the World Trade Center. Rest easy brothers

Scott PikeI am an Assistant Chief at an Air National Guard Base in New York. I am doing well. On my off days I keep busy with Instructing in the area and adjuncting at the fire academy. USMCR CFR at MCAS Cherry Point Dec. 1980-Present. Current rank CWO-3.
My civilian job is Chief of Airport Public Safety, New Hanover International Airport, Wilmington, NC.
Have a sworn staff of 10 officers, 2 dispatchers and 16 cross trained maintenance personnel.
Equipment wise, we have a 1990 Oshkosh T-1500, a 1975 Oshkosh M-1500 (civilian P-4), a 1977 Navy surplus P-4 from NAS Norfolk (old number 12), 2 quick response vehicles with TAU,
AND a 1969 Oshkosh MB-5!!! from Cherry Point (old number 52)
. We also do water rescue and have a 5 meter RIB for this work.
We sponsor a ARFF water rescue school each September, and an airshow on the even years (next one: April 1998)
We usually get a few USMC CFR types to come to ILM to help out (sort of a working 96 with free food and parties).
