Blaine Hanson (Cpl) Aloha to all who served with me at K Bay May 86- Aug 90, also in Saudi Sept 90 - April 91. Semper Fi!!

Hardin Sgt John W

Ted HarrisI too used to be in that MOS 7051 Aircraft Firefighting & Rescue. I was an assistant section leader at MCAS New River in 1991 during the Gulf War. The mos was new to me at the time. I have been in the Corps both active and now reserves for almost 18 years. I have had several jobs in the Corps as you could imagine and like I said, one was CFR.
I had just moved to Memphis TN in August of 1990 and changed from a Comm mos to 7051 CFR. I was in the reserves at the time soon to be activated for the war. Before going the Saudi I was assistant section leader of Section 2 at New River. We had Marines in and out of the unit because of the war. I had only been through the school a few months before I got orders to New River. Talk about being scared. I was used to being in charge of a Comm section of about 25 Marines not 73 in an mos I was that I was brand new to.
Anyway I have since been an Admin Chief and now I work with the Navy reserves in Millington TN in the field of Information Technology. I have several great memories of my CFR days and the Marines that I had the pleasure of working with. I found your web site because I have been searching for something that I was very fond of that was lost a few years ago when my ex-wife and I divorced.
That item was my CFR badge. It was gold with the Marine Corps emblem in the center and I haven't been able to replace it. I have looked in surplus stores and checked a couple of badge specialty chops but no one carries military CFR badges. Do you have any ideas as to how I can get mine replaced? I got the original badge when I was at New River when the supply chief gave it to me. He said then that they had to order them and that some Marines bought their own but I can't find out any information about them now. I really hope you can help. The only thing I have that shows me even being in crash crew is a Meritorious Mast from the MCAS New River Commander and the fact that it is on my DD-214 and in my SRB. I don't even have the certificate from the school since in 1991 it burned down (where I went to school at Millington) or a unit patch from New River or the reserve unit I was with at Millington before it was disbanded after the war. I hoped to put the badge in my shadow box with my Aircrew wings and medals and ribbons when I retire in a couple of years. Any information that you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you very much.
Semper Fi, Ted Harris, SSgt. USMCR

Hi there everybody.I have'nt been in a long time but recognize many names in the roll call.Remember me SGT Lassiter from Okinawa?Anyways doing good in Yuma about to become the training NCO in charge of all licensing for the crew.Thats right nasty day shop lol.Anyways it's been a rough tour at Yuma with its ups and downs and its almost time to leave (damn recruiting screening team lol).Joining you soon Watwood.Well Semper Fi fellow Crash Crewmen and to each the very best of luck in the future. Also I'm a avid paatch collector and anyone that is in currently or out that has any extra patches of Crash Crews i would like to either trade or purchase them.Just email me and let me know thanks.

Herritt, DavidI was in from 7/87 - 7/93.

@ MCAS Tustin. "Rustin' in Tustin"
Found a few old friends on this site and still keep in touch with many others. Gotta say, I miss a few things like the "little house", b'ball in the barn, softball & football, S111 (can you hum the song?), parties @ Gunny's house, and most of all...hangin' with my boys!! Long live the TBP!

I wouldn't trade the friendships I made and trails and tribulations that I experienced for anything. But I'm glad I don't have to worry about moving every 2 to 3 years. If you are a 7051 or 7011, let me hear from you. Especially if you're from the old Corps!!!(ha-ha)
Don't know if anyone reads these, but I'm hoping
some of the Jarhead Crashcrewmen that I served with, will read this and get in touch!!
Looking to try and get a Crash Crew Reunion going here on the west coast!!
Attended the one at Quantico this year and was great!!
Not many from the West Coast there though, and I know there are tons of you Crashcrew persons (politically correct now)
out here, so lets hear from you and get together!! Vegas would be a great place to have it,
and I'll do all the leg work to get it going, if anyone is interested!!
Email me and let me know what you think!! (Contact John Hewitt at his above email address)

Had a blast in the crew. I spent my last three years on recruiting duty which was awesome.
I got out because of family issues and then went into insurance buisness in Chicago.
I developed serious health problems after I got out.
Three brain suregeries to remove tumors then found out the tumors were due to a disease called Neurofibromatosis Type 2.
I am married to a great woman and have two boys ages 4 and 6.
I am wondering what ever happened to Rob Parker or JJ Day. Trying to find those two knuckleheads.
We had a blast on "The Rock". Drop me a line let me know what is happenin.
