Marine Barracks Wash D.C. we were billited in the Naval Yard in a
historicold bld. that now serves as the USMC museum.
After a year of that I had to request mast to get my WESTPAC
orders, which landed me in Iwakuni where I
was then sent south to a small Royal Thai AFB called NAM PHONG
near UDORNUSAFB.
Many strange and back stabbing occurences devloped there...maybe
I could write a book on it some day.
While there we were day on stay on. I was one of a few crew
cheifs that did the best we could with very little
support from our Staff Nco,s to make our mission successful, and
that was Operation Freedom. 1/29/73 thru 8/15 73.
We were told that our effortswould result in the release of our
POW,S in hanoi. I guess we all know
the out come of that one. Well thanks for letting me bend you,re
ear, first time I,ve done this outside of group @ the V.A.

I currently work at CP, enjoying the good times and taking in all the memories I'm gonna look back on years from now. Just saw the site and looked around. Liked what I saw, and looking forward to seeing some former cherry point crewmen coming to visit and bullshit in May. I started my own crash crew website today, and cant wait to get it looking like I want. Ok, I'm done now, the corndogs are ready.
