The performer has a spectator select a card, memorizes it and then returns it to the deck. The performer has a prediction in his coat pocket which he displays to the audience. Jumping to Confusion©

Two brass cylinders, one blue and the other red are shown and are each placed on fingers of the right hand. They are in turn covered with a handkerchief. The performer takes the blue cylinder from under the handkerchief places it on a finger of the left hand. The performer hands the remaining cylinder to the spectator to hold. The spectator covers the blue cylinder (which is in plain view). Upon word or command the cylinders change places in a most inexplicable manner. They are each machined to perfection. Chung Ling Soo - The Man of Mystery

Tampa - England's Court Magician

Under the name, Tampa England's Court Magician, Ray S. Sugden toured the United States as master magician, Howard Thurston's third traveling show unit. Vaudeville was coming to a show business halt while talking pictures were sweeping the country. You'll read what happened in the professional career of Ray and the continued praise he received in news articles and reviews. His performances were a constant success, but something changed.

Photos, advertisements, and actual publicity are woven throughout the book Tampa England's Court Magician to guide the reader through Sugden's professional life. Added to this publication is actual correspondence from Thurston to Dante discussing the fate of Tampa and his magic career as Thurston's number three unit. Harry Thurston gathered up a handful of his brother's illusion and took them on the road... for a very short time. He presented the "Mysteries of India" in tent shows and a few theaters. When that didn't work out, he went onto several different types of endeavours outside of the world of magic. He made one run of throw out cards and this is the one of the very few which remain!
