TICKETS, PLEASE
By Marion Smith
My husband usually purchases the tickets we need when we prepare to journey by plane, but when it comes to other types of
tickets, I usually buy them. Tickets for football, baseball and soccer games, tickets for the theater or a movie, and tickets
for attending a professional golf tournament. There are tickets available for transportation by train and bus, and tickets
received for parking your car.
Each of these tickets costs money, and it varies depending upon the event. There is one destination for which we are unable
to purchase a ticket, and that is heaven. There isn't enough money or good works available to buy our way into heaven.
Fortunately, someone has prepaid our ticket to heaven, and He is Jesus.
He paid for us to spend eternity with our heavenly Father, and He paid with a heavy price. It was by His precious blood shed
as He hung on a cross at Golgotha, allowing the nails to pierce His hands and feet, along with all our sins. He paid with
the price of separation from His own Father, as He bore our sins that day. He paid with humility, pain and suffering. He paid
the price for you and me. I will take the ticket He has purchased for me gladly. I only need to embrace it, and Him, as He
offers eternal life to each of us. Thank you, Lord Jesus.
