TO JESUS ON HIS BIRTHDAY

Dear Jesus:

Happy Birthday. You are God's most precious gift to me.

What gift can I give you on your birthday? Being God yourself...You have everything. But there are two things You really asked from me. In the prayer which You taught me, You said I should forgive all who have offended me. And shortly before You died, You told me to love others as You love me.

Therefore, dear Jesus, let me make these two things as my gift to You, the first as a birthday gift, and the second as a Christmas gift.

For my birthday gift to You, I hereby forgive all, everyone who have offended me, especially the ones whom I hated or resented the most. I forgive them all, right now, for Your sake. They don't have to know, because this is between us, our secret. But they will know later because I will no longer look upon them as enemies but I shall see You, dear Jesus, in them. I shall therefore look upon them with love.

This brings me to my Christmas gift, I shall love others as You love me. And that's a lot of love, a love willing to die for others.

Thank you, dear Jesus, for Your two gifts to me today: your Peace, and your Joy!
