Tenth build: Andy "Dragonfly" Carrell's Sparkle Boost
The Sparkle Boost is a wonderful booster effect with the option to add a little grit via the gain pot. It provides enough volume gain to hit your tube amp nice and hard. I've also found that it sounds great in front of my Blue Magic pedal increasing its distortion when the Sparkle Boost is on. The build is faithful to Andy's schematic, with a J201 for the JFET. I used my own perf layout as the circuit is so simple.
For the box on this one, I used one of Chadd Hamilton's (Stombox forum member chaddhamilton) wooden boxes. I shielded the inside with alumin(i)um foil and stained it with Minwax Olde Maple Satin. These wooden boxes are beautiful and look great. They feel quite strong and rugged, and they have nice curves ;-D
