Our basic human nature yearns for rites of passage, to be initiated into a group, to be recognized and to be accepted for who we are. The rites of passage are ceremonies that celebrate the natural transitions that we humans all experience: birthdays, puberty, coming of age, graduation, moving away, leaving home, maturity, retirement, divorce, the elder stage or any other life transition.

Each ceremony is unique and meaningful to one's own experience. A rite of passage, which marks a time when a person reaches a new and significant change in their life, is something that nearly all societies recognize and celebrations are often held. Rituals and ceremonies feed our spirits, making them richer and deeper and honor our life’s journey.
