July, 2005
OK, so in January I left Artisan and haven't really had a website aside of MySpace but now I finally got my Earthlink webspace going. I OWE ALBUMS OF THE MONTHS! Since I've been moving and busy and stuff, I took too long to get sick of my CDs, so the following didn't leave my CD player as others did:
INTO ETERNITY - Dead or Dreaming
PAIN OF SALVATION - Entropia
I've been on a serious kick...so much that I've been listening to like, every POS album for the past few months. Then, I hit a dry spell where I just didn't change the CDs in my car because nothing caught me...
BUT that's changed. Now I can't stop listening to REDEMPTION's self-titled album. I must burn it, put it in my car, and obsess for the rest of July! Last time I wrote here, Into Eternity was going to play. I saw them, missed them the next time around and will see them again this week. \m/

Where have I been?!? This band is awesome...I'm hooked on this album at the moment, so it gets 2 months.
INTO ETERNITY - Buried In Oblivion
This album rules because there are good grooves, good prog riffs, heavy element, awesome vocals and harmonies...and...STUFF.
They're playing here soon! (and this website is broken)
Favorite track: both track 4 - Beginning of the End, and 3 - Three Dimensional Aperture

Um....is it bad that I haven't stopped listening to this album since September?
PAIN OF SALVATION - Remedy Lane
Oyyy!!!!! That's all I can say. Thanks John for this album! Ok I like it because there are SO many vocal varieties and dynamics.. lots of experimentation and passion.
Favorite track: 13 - Beyond the Pale

This month I'm just flipping through songs...no album to fixate on.

EDGE OF SANITY - Crimson II
Borrowed this one after listening to Crimson for a month..then couldn't stop listening to this one. Usually it's hard to warm up to another album by the same band but I like both equally. Even though this one has 44 freaking tracks!! They call it 1 track, but each track is between 0:30 and 1:30 long. Kinda funny.
Couldn't find website.. grrr!
Favorite track: 18 - all 4 lines on this short track. :)

EDGE OF SANITY - Crimson
This album (song) roocccccks! Everything between mellow and acoustic to evil death metal to groove and schtuff.. one looooooong track. An eargasm that must be had by all. One of the damn coolest openings I've ever heard! Just comes in with groove and death metal vocals! AGH! Love it!
Favorite track: um, well.. there only IS one track!
Listened to a lot of Arti and random jump on my CD player - didn't have albums the past months. What a dry spell! Need innnpuuuut!! Feel free to make suggestions. Nothing with violins (unless it's Extol) or operatic vocals will probably make it to this list, but I'm always open to new bands.
EARLIER IN 2004.. :)
I promised no lagging.....but I don't know what I've been listening to...since the ARTISAN demo got mastered I spent a lot of time listening to that. Go download it from the Artisite if you want to know what I think of it.
