Welcome to Windfall's newest arrival!

Born April 29th - A big, beautiful filly!  By Sea King Gold out of Premiere (Ballytiegue Castle (RIDSH)/Forest Lady(TB)).

The Irish Draught and Irish Sport Horse

The Irish Draught breed traces its roots to the days when farmers would work their horses in the field, then take them to a horse show or out hunting.  Not only did the breed develop tremendous strength and bone, but also athleticism, intelligence, and tractability.
Breeding Irish Draught horses with the Thoroughbred produced the Irish Sport Horse.  The Irish Sport horse presents an ideal balance of bone, endurance, strength, and agility.  The Irish Sport Horse is an ideal breed for all disciplines.
The Irish Sport Horse has been extremely successful in international competition, including such horses as Custom Made - Individual 3-day eventing gold medalist under David O'Connor at the Sydney Olympics, with the lowest olympic 3-day dressage score in history.

Rebel Yell (RID)
May 26, 1993 - April 6, 2001

On the morning of April 6, 'Teddy' died in a freak accident while playing in his pasture.  He died doing what he loved to do, run and play and having a great time.  We consider ourselves lucky to have had him in our lives, even though it was such a short time.  Everyone who knew him, loved him and will miss him terribly.     The following poem was written by one of our students, Kristen Moore, in memory of the most wonderful horse we have ever known.

Teddy

 We buried you today
Beneath the grasses of your playground
The wind blows over it as if to say
"I wonder why you went away?"

When the first tiny light comes out tonight
It will not shine off your silver-lined coat
They will sparkle dim and seem less bright
Those stars will miss your eye, the brightest light

And when the morning dew will settle down
To lie upon the earth, like a tear soft on my cheek
It will lie heavy upon the less- trodden ground
And wonder why you are not around

The waking noises of the farm will seem amiss
The clanging rhythm of your impatient greeting
Smashing out your hearty welcome, friendly bliss
Today such comfort greetings remain noiseless

They say, "Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow",
My heart tells me of this Sorrow deep
Yet my soul says wait for something Sweet tomorrow
For life has few gifts to offer, and many just to borrow

You danced your merry waltz upon my heart
With such gifts of memories, we will never waltz apart
