Composer in Residence
NIGEL WADDINGTON is a freelance composer, arranger and trumpet player based near London, UK. He works primarily in the jazz idiom, and has written for top UK artists including Claire Martin, Derek Watkins, John Horler, Martin Shaw, Frank Griffith and Sammy Mayne. Nigel is best known for his orchestral work in the recording studio, but his chamber music has been performed on London’s South Bank and in the United States Nigel's compositions have become popular with big bands in New York City and Los Angeles. As a performer he has appeared at and written for performances at London’s world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Club. He instructs in arranging at Goldsmith’s College and has released two albums of his work; “After a Journey” and “Bigger Pictures.”
