Stan Bassett has always had a knack for the industry. It all started in his own garage as a kid working on cars he & his family drove. In 1972, Stan successfully completed one of the first Automotive ASE Certification tests offered. Shortly after, he began working in Great Britain as a jet fighter Crew Chief; repairing F4 Phantom & F-15 Eagle fighter jets for the US Armed Forces. At night, he worked at a local automotive shop servicing & repairing British automobiles. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military, he returned to his birthplace, Houston, Texas, to work for Southwest Volkswagen; a large local dealership. There, he worked as a line technician & received extensive specialized training from Volkswagen of America. Stan later joined Southpoint Porsche-Audi of Houston as a Diagnostician & Shop Foreman where he received more industry accreditation. In the early 1980's, Stan joined BMW Auto Center; another top dealership in Houston, where he continued the role of Shop Foreman & Diagnostician. He also performed heavy line work on BMW engines & transmissions.  He benefited from several on-site training courses, quality control programs & obtained numerous certificates of accomplishment. Currently, Stan holds a Master ASE Automotive Technician certification & is certified in all eight automotive areas. After several years in the automotive industry & frustrated with the way most car dealerships treated their customers; Stan Bassett opened our doors in February of 1988. For the past twenty-one years Stan has made European Performance a successful family-owned business known for its quality, integrity & customer satisfaction.
