Biography
Rachel Freeman has exhibited her collages
in Oregon, Minnesota, and Kansas including juried shows, galleries, and shops. She
began making collages in Oregon while working on a doctoral dissertation in Special Education.
Rachel’s first collages were exhibited in her dissertation defense and were created from the data she analyzed.
Artist’s Statement
My collages are created by using
pieces of magazine and photographs to build a new image. Synchronicity is involved in finding the right textures and colors
and the completed collage is never quite what I expect. Subconscious themes and
life experiences are revealed in the completed work. The collages in this art
exhibition reflect the influences of my experiences living in England and the Midwest, from Kidderminster to Kansas.
