The Dance (available only on cassette) $12.oo Ellen's first solo album, The Dance, was recorded in 1987 at Radio City Music Hall Studios in New York City. Ellen got musical backup from a host of fine East Coast (at the time, anyway) musicians including Shawn Colvin, Lucy Kaplansky and Rod MacDonald on vocals, Howie Wyeth (drums), Frank Christian (guitar), Ann Hampton Callaway (piano and vocals), David Massengill (dulcimer) and David Darling (cello). The tape was produced by Ellen's brother Steve and engineered by Les Kahn (Paul Winter Consort, Trio Globo). |
