Reviewed 2009 by John Kirk. ¹ Mount Hebo has two summits that rival for the same prominence. The NE summit is in Tillamook county and has a N 3160' contour and a S 3176' spot elevation. The SW summit is in Yamhill county and has a 3160' area. If the SW summit wins, it and Trask Mtn (the HP) are both contenders for the Yamhill county prom champ; otherwise, the county prom prize goes unequivocally to Trask Mtn. Field observations indicate that the N contour of the Tillamook summit is at least 3185' by comparison with the 3176' spot. The 3160' area on the Yamhill summit is very small and flat and probably does not exceed 3165', and loses the prominence of Mt Hebo to the Tillamook summit. Therefore Trask Mtn remains as the sole possibility for the most prominent summit in Yamhill county. ² Long Mtn is rivalled for the same prominence by a point ½ mile S of Bacona in Washington county. If Long Mtn wins the rivalry, it takes the county prominence; otherwise, Bunker Hill gets the county prominence.
