- Austen.com
- Austen.com provides a good starting point for
people interested in Jane Austen. Among other things, it contains
the full texts of Emma, Mansfield Park, Pride and Prejudice, and
Persuasion; there are links to full online texts of all of her other
works as well. It is perhaps the best gateway to a number of Regency
webrings.
-
Brass, Winter Thunder, and a Polar Bear
- A collection of commentaries by famous male
writers on Jane Austen and her works. This link connects to the
entry by C.S. Lewis, which I judge to be the most interesting one.
-
Literary History.com - Jane Austen
- While not particularly decorative, this site does
contain links to transcripts and scholarly papers not found
elsewhere.
- The Republic of Pemberley
- Pemberley is a well-organized, and extensive
collection of all things Austen. The site contains electronic texts
of all six complete novels, Lady Susan, and the Brabourne edition of
her letters. Of particular interest is the
information page, which features links to an astonishing array
of humorous items, among them the notorious gothic cover to
Northanger
Abbey. It is possible to search all of the novels from this
page, using keywords.
