Magdalena rose to prominence serving as the Toreador Primogen under Prince Gaspar Diego Alacazar. She, working with the Tremere, arranged the 1977 blackout that finally enabled the Camarilla to take the city from the Sabbat. In the aftermath of the invasion, the Brujah Justicar named her Prince of New York City. After driving the Sabbat completely from New York City, Westchester and nearby areas of Long Island and New York, Prince de Luca "retired" to her studios to work on her sculptures, which she sculpts out of granite with her bare (but Potence-assisted) hands and occasionally shows.

For the most part, she allows Seneschal Guder and her Secretary, Matthew Jacob Ford, to run the affairs of New York City. This does not mean, however, that Prince de Luca is removed from affairs. She holds court, usually at "The Smoking Room," one of NYC's Elysiums, ever three months. Additionally, she receives constant briefings from Secretary Ford and Seneschal Guder, and is quick to action when needed. The last time she publicly acted was shortly after the Amadou Diallo shooting - she staked Adrian McAllister, one of the Brujah responsible for the actions of the Street Tactial Unit; he is still staked and in a room in the Prince's haven. When Prince de Luca gets involved in matters, she does her best to settle things quickly, usually causing great pain to the people who have troubled her.

The Prince's Secretary, Matthew Jacob Ford is also her Childe. He was Embraced by Prince de Luca some time ago, before she was the Toreador Primogen, made her Secretary in 1981 (when she created the office), and has served her since. He often stands in for the Prince in ceremonies, as she is usually working in her studios or working on a private project and wishes to not be interrupted. Most people call him either Secretary Ford or Matthew (never just plain "Matt"), but Prince de Luca often refers to him as Jacob. It is known that he is a historical, non-fiction writer, but he has not written anything in quite some time (since 1981, in fact). It is known that Matthew's last project was a history of New York City, from New Amsterdam days to present - he never got past 1900, and recently abandoned the project.

The current Seneschal of New York City, Mr. Guder has been involved in the leadership of the city since he first arrived, back in 1947. He has worked with several Princes, and was eventually made the Ventrue Primogen under Prince Alacazar. Prince de Luca named him her Seneschal immediately after the Brujah Justicar named her Prince in 1977. Although Seneschal Guder has been working on the financial status of New York City for some time, even he was unable to prevent the city from coming close to the brink of bankruptcy in the seventies due to the overwhelming Sabbat presence during that era. Still, he has been able to utilize the resources of his Clan, the Kindred of New York and New York City itself to begin the slow climb to economic recovery. Thanks to his leadership, New York City is finally revitalizing, leaving behind the cost cutting days and economic hardships of the seventies and eighties and entering a new period of growth. Incidentally, Seneschal Guder has been behind some of the recent changes in Times Square.

Shane McMurty is the current Brujah Primogen. He served the Clan as Whip under Primogen Samuel Duffy from 1982 to 1991. Primogen Duffy was deposed in 1991 due to his poor handling of the police during Crown Height Riots and left New York City for Chicago. Although it was later discovered that one of the Lesser Harpies had countermanded Primogen Duffy's police commands, no attempt was made to restore Duffy to power. Shane has served the interests of the Brujah Clan exceptionally well, and has made several political connections that have been very beneficial for the Kindred in NYC. Shane also serves as an occasional liaison with the Anarchs in the South Bronx; he has very good relations with them.

The Gangrel Primogen, Anna has served New York City since 1975, when the Clan elected her. It is believed that the Clan selected Anna to be their Primogen because she was one of the few members of the Clan who actually cared enough to bother with politics. Anna is outgoing, gregarious and extroverted - unlike some others in her Clan. She fought along side both Prince Alacazar and Prince de Luca to rid the city of Sabbat, and works closely with the Sheriff to prevent their return. She also works on keeping the Fort Tyron area "safe," making it one of the more popular destinations of the mortals in NYC. It is known that she is not happy with Prince de Luca's decision to not grant her Clan more territory, and has openly stated that she hopes that the Toreador or Nosferatu Clans fail in their duties so that her Clan can take over their territories (and expand upon them).

Irma Vep (which is an anagram of "vampire") has been the Malkavian Primogen since 1984, following the death of Jules Rubin, the previous Primogen. Originally known as Li Hao Tsai, Irma's mind was shattered during the fighting of 1977, when she was infected with Dementation. Her memories were fragmented so badly that her persona reformed into that of Irma Vep, and she has gone by that identity since then. The Irma Vep persona was radically different from that of Li Hao Tsai, and most people acted as if Li Hao was dead and that Irma was a wholly new person - which she was. Irma has not done much of note in the city as the Primogen, but is still the Malkavian Clan's choice.

This androgynous Nosferatu has been Primogen since 1979. Cary has worked almost non-stop to "change the image" the Clan in New York City, trying to show people that not all Nosferatu are "sewer-dwelling wretches." Thanks to Cary, the Clan has become quite involved in high society, politics and the like, however, the Nosferatu have not relinquished their hold on a few of the more subterranean places of New York City. According to Primogen White, there are a few Nosferatu who simply cannot leave the underground without risking the Masquerade, so the Clan still maintains holdings under the city. Primogen White has asked that people stay out of the underground, and Prince de Luca and Seneschal Guder have semi-officially agreed to this condition, although no "law" about it has been passed.

Robert became the Toreador Primogen when the position opened due to de Luca becoming Prince. Primogen Day is very active in the society scene in New York City, and owns (or co-owns) two of the Elysiums in town. In addition to working the social scene in NYC, Primogen Day is a painter (but hasn't had show since 1973), and works at a recording studio (where he records albums for some of the bands that perform at ABC No Rio).

The Tremere Primogen, Galena arrived in New York City back in 1989. She was made Primogen and Regent in 1991, when the former Regent, Victor Dalwood, was sent to Amsterdam. Primogen Karinskaya is not a very public person, and little is known about her. She spends most of her time at the Morgan Library, reading through the stacks, and usually allows her clanmates the freedom to do as they wish, as long as it does not cross her or endanger the city. According to Serena Hunt, the Tremere Harpy, this has led to some occasional problems, as some Tremere have unknowingly created "situations" through their research. Still, Primogen Karinskaya has always "taken the heat" when necessary and done what she can to prevent problems with the mortals.

Suzie Morgan (never Susan, and yes, she is a member of those Morgans, the ones who created the Pierpont Morgan Library) is the Ventrue Primogen in New York City. She has worked closely with Seneschal Guder and Keeper Michaelson to keep New York running "smoothly" and to take advantage of the new economy. It is well known that she is less than pleased with the Tremere having her ancestral library as their territory. Still, the Ventrue and Tremere Clans in New York get along, mostly due to the interactions between Primogen Morgan and Karinskaya.

The Nosferatu Sheriff of New York City, Matchstick keeps a close rein on the NYPD and other offices, trying to keep the Masquerade safe. There have occasionally been problems (such as when Matchstick had to drag McAllister, Primogen McMurty's Childe, to the Prince for the Diallo incident), but he has kept the city safe since 1980. Sheriff Matchstick has traditionally had two Deputies, but one of them got killed back in July. Deputy Justin Thompson tried to detain an Caitiff, only to find out that the Caitiff was really a Lupine. Thankfully, Sheriff Matchstick and his other Deputy, Bette Peterson, were able to take down the Lupine after Deputy Thompson "softened that fuzzy up." Sheriff Matchstick is a gruff man who "doesn't take shit from anyone" and is rude, but he gets his job done - which is what the Prince likes.

This Brujah was a cab driver back in her mortal days. She has been one of Argus' Deputies since 1982. According to Argus, Bette knows her way around New York City "better than most of the Nosferatu do." She is equally as gruff and crude as Sheriff Matchstick.

Jeremy Michaelson of Clan Ventrue is the Keeper of Elysium. He was one of the first officers named after de Luca became Prince (just after Seneschal Guder). In addition to keeping things at the Elysiums "safe and sane," Keeper Michaelson works with Sheriff Matchstick to uphold the Masquerade. Keeper Michaelson has turned down a number of requested to make additional Elysiums - he claims that he cannot "observe and maintain" more than seven and has no desire to make assistants.

The Primogen Council made Serena Hunt of Clan Tremere the Harpy of New York City back in 1983. She was to be made Harpy earlier, but Prince de Luca did not wish to "get into such matters" until the Sabbat were definitely eliminated from the area. Serena has traditionally had two lesser Harpies to assist her in being the "undying memory of faux pas, innuendo, gossip, rumor and scandal" (Serena's own description of what a Harpy does). One of those lesser Harpies, Meredith Wilson, recently left New York City to go to Paris - at the invitation of François Villon, the Prince of Paris. The other lesser Harpy is Mary Might of Clan Malkavian.

Mary Might, a product of Andy Warhol's Factory scene, was long believed to be Jules Rubin's lover. After all, the former Malkavian Primogen literally kept her within arm's reach. After his death in 1984, Mary went on to influence some of the downtown club scene at places like the Palladium and the Limelight. In 1991, she uncovered information that Gregor Dunlap, a lesser Harpy, prevented the police from responding to the Crown Heights Riots while he took care of some business there. She prevented this evidence to both Serena and Matthew, and Prince de Luca killed Gregor herself. Serena made Mary a lesser Harpy as a reward for revealing the previous Harpy's treachery.
