The Rules of the City

The Traditions

  1. The Masquerade
  2. Thou shalt not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood. Doing so shall renounce thy claims of the Blood.

  3. The Domain
  4. Thy domain is thy concern. All others owe thee respect within it. None may challenge thy word in thy Domain.

  5. The Progeny
  6. Thou shalt sire another one with permission of thine elder. If thou createst another without thine elder's leave, both thou and thy progeny shall be slain.

  7. The Acounting
  8. Those thou create are thine own childer. Until thy progeny shall be released, thou shalt command them in all things. Their sins are thine to endure.

  9. Hospitality
  10. Honor one another's domain. When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shalt present thyself to the one who ruleth there. Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing.

  11. Destruction
  12. Thou are forbidden to destroy another of thy kind. The right of destruction belongeth only to thine elder. Only the eldest among thee shall call the blood hunt.

Prince de Luca's "Laws of the City"

  1. Remember the First Tradition at all times. Keep the Masquerade and prevent others from endangering it.
  2. No one Kindred shall impede the feeding of another - let all within my Domain be able to feed wherever and whenever they need. Within this, those who have a lesser Domain, or territory, within my Domain, shall not restrict or prevent people from feeding within those territories.
  3. Respect the Domain and territories that you are within - keep the Masquerade and do not violate it.
  4. Remember the Third Tradition; I am the Elder of that Tradition. Any Kindred found created without my permission shall be slain, and their Sire shall be punished, if not slain as well.
  5. Those who have territories are charged with keeping those territories safe and protected. If someone is found endangering the territory of another, they shall be castigated to the fullest.
  6. Remember the Sixth Tradition. I shall slay those who slay their fellows.
  7. Remember the laws of the mortal populace, and keep them when you can.
