The Fuzzy Bunnies... of Doom! You see, at our third game, we instituted a ribbon/armband to indicate that certain characters just disturb other characters for unknown reasons. In other words, if you saw someone with this particular ribbon, you would instantly know that you didn't like them, and you just didn't know why. Maybe that person had high levels of True Faith, or maybe they had particular flaws (like Eerie Presence or Touch of Frost or something similar) that disturbed people. It was a good idea, right? And hey, we were using ribbons to indicate other things, so what's one more ribbon? Red indicated that a character was in the Umbra, White indicated that a character had no reflection, and Purple indicated that a character had Majesty. All we needed was one more color.... We thought about it for awhile, and we all settled on black. We figured that black was a good color to indicate the fact that someone was just creepy. Then we had the game, and everyone had the same realization: We're playing with people who almost all wear all black! The Black ribbons just didn't show up at all against most people's clothes. The White ribbons, the Red Ribbons and the Purple ribbons all worked, but Black didn't. And none of the Staff thought of this before the game! Boy, were our faces red! So, we decided to pick a new ribbon, one that would definitely stand out and indicate "creepy-ness." We thought about using Safety Orange, or Chartreuse or something similar. We were debating the new color at a staff meeting that was held at the home of Ken and Melissa, two of our staff, which happened to be near an arts and crafts store with tons of ribbons and other junk we needed (like star stickers). Melissa decided, right then and there, during the meeting, to go to the store and get a ribbon immediately. Everyone else figured this was a good idea, and so we took a short break while Melissa went off to get ribbon. As Melissa left for the store, Leilani joked with her, "Get some teddy bear ribbon or something." Fateful words, considering what happened.... Melissa went to the store, and found the one ribbon that she figured was guaranteed to disturb people. It certainly disturbed the staff! Here is a sample image of the "creepy" ribbon, The Fuzzy Bunnies of Doom. You have been warned! ![]() Now, remember something.... If you make a character with certain flaws (like Eerie Presence), you will be walking around with these bunnies on you.... Chew on that before you give your character all sorts of flaws.... Just so you know, a quick listing of "Bunny Flaws" (as I call them) follows: A Small Listing Of Flaws That Will Likely Cause You To Wear A Bunny Ribbon: Smell of the Grave This list is neither complete nor inclusive; it might change at the GM's whim, so don't assume it's set in stone. Th-th-th-that's all, folks! |
