Located in the town of Vienna, Virginia, Epiphany Preschool is an outreach
of Epiphany United Methodist Church and promotes the whole child development concept of teaching young children.
We enroll up to 80 children in our program of 3 and 4-year-old classes. Our classes have two full-time teachers
in each and class enrollment is kept at a minimum to ensure the quality of our program.
Our Staff
Epiphany Preschool has a staff of thirteen, including music and science teachers and a librarian.
Our staff is fully certified and is required to have a minimum of six continuing education hours yearly, in addition to CPR
and First Aid.
Our Approach
We want all of our children to have a positive school experience. We strive to provide the best
possible environment for their growth and development by fostering a stimulating program in which children have the freedom
to develop. Children learn through their experiences in both play and relationships. We believe that, with careful
guidance, these interactions provide an effective and permanent foundation for future learning.
A teacher's task is to help each child acquire useful patterns of behavior, by fostering their sense
of wonder and trust, which will lead them toward becoming productive, creative adults. Children are products of their
relationships with family, friends and teachers. Relationships are especially significant in Christian learning.
Children learn forgiveness through forgiveness. They learn to trust when adults are trustworthy and fair, and when their
atmosphere is a place where they are free to experiment and where mistakes are part of the growing process. Children
learn to understand by being understood and by having an opportunity for social experiences with other adults and with their
peers. In this process, they will learn to value themselves as well as others.
We encourage balanced growth by placing equal emphasis on physical, social, emotional and intellectual
development. We are dedicated to developing the whole child.
