John Hannon was most likely of Scotch-Irish descent. Their family may have immigrated before the
Revolutionaly War. The first record of John Hannon (Hanna) is in the Howard Township, Centre County census of 1820.
He and his wife are buried at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Jackson, Centre, PA just outside of Howard, Centre County, PA.
They are also listed in the Bellefonte Historical Society Catholoic Church records as Presbyterian.
Later members of the family converted to Catholicism.
