The Pond

This small pond is located on the original homestead of John Jacob Buss. He was the son of the first immigrants to Northampton County from Germany, Johannes Jacob Buss. This site is not mentioned by name in the will. John Jacob Buss property abuts the "Pond" which is a prominent feature of this area at the edge of Bethlehem Township, Northampton County, It was rediscoverd on May 20, 1929, approximately 250 years after John Buss took up his residence in the Drylands of Northampton County.

John Buss Homestead

This old stone house is located on the original land grant of John Buss. It was one of several land grants issue by William Penn's sons and is documented in "The Penn Patents on the Forks of the Delaware" by A.D. Chidsey, Jr. , President of the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society," Easton, PA, 1937.
