Quilt Preparation

  • A 4”-6” sleeve must be sewn on the back of all large and medium quilts. Smaller items will be pinned to drape.
  • QUILTS WILL NOT BE ACCPETED WITHOUT A LABEL. Apply a label to the bottom right hand corner of the back of your quilt. The label must contain the following information: your name and address, the title of your quilt, and the registration number (place the number in the top right hand corner of the label.
  • Labels on judged items must be covered. Pin or sew muslin over the label.
  • Submit each entry in a separate solid colored pillowcase or cloth bag with a label sewn or written on it.
  • You will be given a receipt when you drop off your quilt. Keep this receipt in a safe place - no quilt will be returned without a receipt. If someone else is going to pick up your quilt for you, they must have the receipt.

FYI

You will be given a receipt when you drop off your quilt. It is very important that you keep this receipt in safe place. All quilts must be picked up on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 between 5 pm and 6 pm at the show site, Shenendehowa High School East. No quilts will be given out before this time or without a receipt. We take the responsibility for our quilt seriously and appreciate your cooperation with these precautions.

The Empire QuiltFest will provide security and insurance for your quilt while it is in our possession. The maximum insurance we will provide for an item is $1000. This is a reasonable replacement of materials only. If you are concerned that the value of your quilt exceeds this insured amount, we strongly encourage you to have it appraised and covered under your homeowner’s insurance. Security is a high priority for us and we will do everything possible to insure the safety of your project.

Empire Quiltfest reserves the right to photograph all items for publicity and/or documentation purposes.
