Answer to a Prayer
Nothing to fear
All the dreams I ever wished for
All the terrors I ever dreaded
Solved in an instant
Taken into the arms of safety
And simutaneously released into the world
No longer a sense of what might never happen
But with confidence, comfort...content!
That ever-present sense of purpose
Now strengthened to invincibility
As though the world, instead of presenting obstacles
O'er which I must clambor
Now leads me in the right direction wherever I turn
I am no longer in need
Five O'Clock Decision
A battle
Impossible to win
Deciding which course to take
Knowing that the outcome of either might be devastating
Trapped like a river against a man-made dam
Unable to continue on, unable to go back
And retrace its couse so avoiding this seemingly hopeless cause
Frustrated that what has been so eagerly sought,
Past mountains and valleys
Now seems more out of reach that ever
A decision at last
Made perhaps in desperation
With a prayer that this may cause the least destruction
But oh!, the damage which it brings
Losses for both sides,
Andyet the river, in the sadness of the pain now present
Finds the dam a victim of the war
And no longer denying the precious goal
The, what had seemed lost forever
Appears with more splendor and beauty
Than had ever been anticipated
The ocean
And as the river is engulfed in amazement
It is thankful for the suffering now gone
For over the invicible battle has come...a victory
Always There
Always there
Teasing my mind with every thought I have
Ready to help in every crisis
Supporting me in every endeavor
Returning every glance with smiles
A uncanny ability to bring happiness
Even when I am lost in sadness
Filling a gap in my heart
I never thought could be satiated
Now overflowing with more love
Than I imagined possible
At times, more than I know what to do with
Afraid I don't savor it enough
And yet reassured contantly
Of its eternal supply
For a friend is, indeed, in spirit
ALWAYS there!
The Rose
The rose
Symbol of ultimate love
Red for the blood of life
Which fills my heart with endless happiness
Constantly as my mind is repeatedly turned
To blessed thoughts of you
And though itself mortal, represents
The love I have for you which shall never die
And as all flowers grow, so does my love
With each passing day, increasing beyond belief,
And strengtheding my wish to be with you
At every moment
Bringing me to prayer to God that one day
That wish may come true
And I may hold you in my arms
Eternally!
Love Once Here
Tonight I cried
Tears harder and more painful
Than e'er before
In torrents the ran down the rivers of my cheeks
And yet I know not why.....
Nay, I know quite well,
Tis for a love once here - now gone
And though these tears now melt into nothingness
Their memory will remain
So my love, now with no tangible existence
Will live on into eternity
