truth. Kinda like my life, this site is
a work in progress, but if you check back periodically, you’ll find new songs,
articles and links.
In a collection of songs entitled “F.E.A.L.” (Faith Expressed As Love),
you’ll find musical gifts from the one, true, living God. You can listen to a song excerpt and/or
download the whole enchilada. New songs
will be posted as they are completed.
Lyric and lead sheets accompany the songs. When a shrink-wrapped CD of F.E.A.L. is
available, you’ll be able to order one here.
Also at this site you’ll find a variety of topics that I find
compelling.
Now, about that… name; Elmo
Goontz. If you’re thinking I had cruel
or dopey parents, relax… it is not my
real name. “Why a pseudonym?” There are two answers: 1) Too many
star-struck artists and their record companies elevate the promotion of an
artist’s name above the One who created music, relegating the Bright Morning
Star of the Universe to virtual insignificance.
Artists who seek to make a name for themselves are
driven by pride (see Genesis 11:4) and probably don’t realize their fellowship
with the Kingdom of Darkness in this way.
2) A pen name allows me to maintain anonymity, because, "Only in
his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without
honor." (Mark 6:4). So that no
offense arises when my songs are played, a trifling and inane pseudonym
sidesteps this. Clear as mud? I thought so!
