BIRTH: Her date of birth (bet 20 Aug 1769 and 19 Aug 1770) is calc from her age at death: She, the wife of this Jonathan Davis, was born in Lexington, dau of Richard & Hannah (Winship) Francis of Lexington [in George A. Cunningham's "History of the Town of Lunenburg, Mass." (p269, t.s. [c1865] at Lunenburg Hist. Soc., and in Beatrice Dana & Mildred Kittredge, "Genealogical Notebooks," at West Windsor [Vt.] Hist. Soc.]. (Place of birth possibly Medford, where there are VRs for four of her older siblings.) There is no VR for Sarah Francis's birth in Lexington, Concord, Littleton, Shirley, or Acton. Sarah's parents Richard & Hannah Francis lived in MEDFORD (Middlesex) MA for the birth of their four of their older children, b. 1760-1766 [per VRs]. But there is no birth record there for the youngest (?), Sarah.

RESIDED: b. Lexington MA (poss. b. Medford, then Lexington); Lunenburg in 1778; poss. Reading VT; finally Windsor VT [now West Windsor] in 1794. Cunningham p269 says father Richard Francis removed with his family from Lexington (the home town of his wife Hannah Winship) to Lunenburg MA in 1778.

MARRIAGE: The marriage record from Lunenburg MA says "Jonathan Davis of Shirley m. 22 February 1791 [by Zabdiel Adams, minister] Sally Francis" [LTR from Mary Padula, Town Clerk of Lunenburg MA to Mrs. F.B. Ells dtd 26 Jan 1965]. Accord, Cunningham's "Lunenburg" p269. The marriage record from Shirley MA says "Jonathan [Davis] and Mrs. Salley Francis of Lunenburg, int. Jan. 16, 1791. [m. Feb. 22, B.R.]" [Mass VR to 1800, NEHGS web; B.R. signifies that fact was from historian Mrs. C.K. Bolton]. Later, historian Seth Chandler was to refer to this Sally Francis as being "of Lexington, Mass" [Rev.Seth Chandler, History of Shirley, p. 383 (1883)].

CHILDREN: see, husband Jonathan Davis. Note that her eldest daughter, Sarah F. Davis, appears to be named after her.
