IMAGINE:
FINE ART

When I've the time, my passion is painting. Ideally I love to couple the images of words with colors shapes and shadows. I also love the the concept of giving new life to what otherwise might be seen as trash; redefining and altering an object to make it new, juxtaposing it with other objects to offer a new definition of the original object.

Those who most inspired me in my fine art those who either took the time to teach me and show me their craft or those who I took the time to analyze. Most inspiring to me was Ed Minus, my college english professor, for reintroducing me to the magic and power of words and the beautiful imagery they create, Mark Shetabi my college painting professor, for spreading excitement and awe regarding those who came before in the art world, the artist Jasper Johns, for seducing me with the richness of encaustic painting and offering exciting examples of coupling words with color and the poet Robert Frost for showing me that one can paint the most
beautiful, rich, colorful painting in black and white using only words.
