And ... who am I?

Welcome graphic

The Z scale (1:220) layouts pictured in these pages are my attempts to capture some of the flavor, images and memories of the period my wife and I were in Southern Germany. We refer to these layouts as "Picture Postcards" because they are the souvenirs I have created from that time in our life.

Within each layout are a multitude of personal memories, whether they are representations of the people, homes, and businesses we encountered that made our life so much more enjoyable, or they are events and places that we enjoyed so much, such as the Christmas market with live sheep under an illuminated tree in the Ulm Cathedral plaza, or the verdant growth of Spring time that is so much a theme of Myfeld.

I hope you enjoy these little tours as have I enjoyed preparing them for you.

You will also find links at the left to articles that I have written for Ztrack Magazine. Most have been seen within the magazine pages, though a couple appear here for the first time.

Z Scale (1:220) is the smallest mass produced model railroad scale. I have chosen this proportion for my layouts as it has the wonderful advantage of allowing a lot of scenary to be depicted in a small space. And the trains run great, too!
