John Creveling is a Troop 241 Eagle Scout. His son Cameron is also an Eagle Scout. He currently lives in Seminole, Florida where he was an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 321.
John wrote: "I became an Eagle Scout at age 14 in Troop 241. I still have all the merit badge cards and advancement cards that my mother so carefully placed in a scrapbook for me. I have my sash and, most importantly, my Eagle Badge. One of my proudest moments was in March, 2007 when I had the opportunity to pin that same badge on my fifteen year old son, Cameron. I remember all the work my Dad put in to scouting for my benefit and it was such a pleasure to be able to do the same for my son. I truly hope he'll pass on the tradition. After receiving my Eagle, I went on to the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1971 as a math major. I married a wonderful girl and joined the Air Force that same year. We spent 20 wonderful years traveling around the US and overseas while I was an Air Force pilot. I retired from the AF in 1971 as a Lieutenant Colonel at MacDill AFB, Florida. I now live in Seminole, FL with my wife and son and own a financial planning practice. Given all the influences young men face as they grow up today, I think Scouting is more important now than ever. I'm so grateful for all it has done for me and my family."
I'd love to hear from other Troop 241 alums... My email address is:
