late Dr. Ronald E. McNair Founded in 1993, the USS Ronald E McNair is a Boston-based fan organization for adults interested in STAR TREK, science-fiction, speculative fiction, and fantasy. While our interest began with Star Trek (and its various series: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise), our interests are much broader and include science fiction (Babylon 5, Farscape, etc.), fantasy (Lord of the Rings, etc.), speculative fiction films, books, animae, NASA, space exploration, and the Internet. Our sci-fi club, or "ship," is named after the late Dr. Ronald E. McNair.

The USS McNair is in contact with regional TREK clubs and associations, such as the USS Christa McAuliffe, the Challenger Learning Center at Framingham State College, and "Starfleet, the International Star Trek Fan Club." While we are not a role-playing club, members choose positions within the ship based upon their choice of interests (i.e., Engineering, Operations, Medical, Communications, etc.). A fictional rank and position on the USS McNair are assigned.

This is a frame free web site. Our club serves the Boston metro area and Eastern Massachusetts. Ship meetings are the second Sunday of the month, at 3 PM. We often arrange activities or "away missions" for the ship. Besides monthly meetings, the McNair crew participates in a variety of TREK events, conventions, and field trips. Browse the USS McNair's mission and history. The USS McNair is always looking for new members to share our interest in sci-fi and speculative fiction.
