Reuniting Jazz and Poetry

Poetry slams, performance poetry and open poetry readings have become regular and popular entertainment in the cities and on college campuses. The time is right for blending poetry and jazz again. In both the PoetryPlus signature program and the celebratory PoetryPlus and Southeast Jazz Connection concert -- Charlie Suhor and E-K. Daufin choose poems around themes such as Cultural Roots, Romance -- Returned and Unrequited -- mix them with jazz improvisiations and shake well for an exciting evening of laughter, toe-tapping and learning.
