My letterpress shop consists of a 1916 New Style 10" x 15" Chandler and Price hand-fed press that originally
came from my great-grandfather's newspaper and print shop in Calhoun County, Miss. I was given this press when I was 13 years
old.
I primarily print traditional letterpress cards and invitations on this press, but it can also do many things
that most modern offset presses cannot do such as printing napkins, hand-made paper, folders and other unusual items; die
cutting; numbering; scoring; perforating; and making non-inked impressions.
There is also a C-3 Intertype from 1924 as well as a full assortment of matrices, spacing material, foundry
type and supplies. Illustrations are printed from relief photopolymer plates which I make from negatives using a 1970s-era
Argyle process camera at my darkroom several blocks away.
