Episode 27:
Full of fear, Ed tries to escape out of the inn's window, only to get beat down halfway through it. The Elrics's alchemy
teacher, Izumi Curtis, has found her wayward students at last. Upon learning Ed is a National Alchemist, she kicks the crap
out of them, then kidnaps the two brothers, dragging them back to her home town. Winry tags along.
On the train, bound in ropes, the Elrics remind Winry that Izumi is not a stranger to her. Izumi was the one who had
passed though their home town of Risenbool (the Japanese need to work on their English spelling/usage) during a rainstorm,
fortifying their river's banks using alchemy without an array, after which she spews blood from her mouth in a Hyatt fashion
(Excel Saga, people...). The young Elrics begged to become her students, without revealing their true intent for studying
alchemy. Ed finally frees himself of his bonds, attempts to escape the train, only to get the crap kicked out of him by Izumi.
Mustang's back in town, Central City that is. He has been transferred back after a few years, and he brings in his dedicated
cadre of officers with him. General Hakuro makes a brief appearance to be all smarmy in front of Mustang, while Mustang bows
and scrapes to Hakuro.
At Izumi's home town, various scenes of children coming up to Izumi for help occur. She believes in using alchemy only
if you can't do something with your own hands. Ed and Al reminisce a bit about studying under Izumi, the terror they had to
endure. Izumi kicks the crap out of Ed and Al after they admit they tried to bring their mother back to life using alchemy.
In this episode we learn:
-Izumi is a martial arts master, as well as a master alchemist
-other children in the village admire Izumi, who reciprocates their love
-when Ed used alchemy without an array, Izumi asks if he saw "it," to which Ed replies "yes."
-when Izumi beats you, it means she loves you!
