Gold Nugget Plecostomus aka Baryancistrus sp. (L18)

goldnugget.jpg

Origin: South America
Temperature: 73-79
PH: 6.5 - 7.0
Maximum Size: 6 inches
Temperment: Peaceful community fish

A beautiful pleco to say the least, they are quite shy, but once a comfort level is reached, they will venture out more and more. While very peaceful with most fish, they will become down right mean and aggressive with their own so it is best not to keep more than one in a tank.

There are actually a few different plecos called the Gold Nugget Pleco and some can reach 13" in length, hopefully as they are more readily available this will get sorted out with proper scientific names.

A great addition to a community tank but should not be kept in aquariums of less than 50 gallons.
