In 1985 I made the first of eight photo-real paintings
from these photographs in oil on canvas. As I painstakingly rendered this image (working title "...shotgun shack") over a
period of six months, I began to realize the meaning of this piece for me delt with the crucifixation and resurection of Jesus
Christ. Each painting I worked on over the next several years became a map for me to trace my steps to the point of dying
to myself and being born of the spirit.
Now, after twenty years of walking in Christ, I am revisiting the archived slides from the Cave Paintings to recreate new
images in digital media.
