12 reported to the Senate the carpool parking plan developed by the carpool parking committee in spring 2001. It was also reported that the
administration had designated the Lower School Parking Lot and the Schuchart Parking Lot to be restricted to carpools. The suggestion was made of defining
carpool to be at least a certain number of individuals. It was pointed out that such a plan would affect the middle and lower schools, and was recommended
that the plan not be put into effect without consulting them. Enforcement was an issue. Suggestions were made to minimize the complexity and to maximize the
effectiveness of enforcing.
The Senate brainstormed ways to improve the Wissner courtyard. Suggestions included furniture and colored chalk. It was suggested that an AMP or an art class
create furniture for the courtyard, but the possibility of vandalism was raised. There was also the suggestion of student art inside of Wissner Hall.
The Senate discussed seating in Benaroya Theater during Town Meetings and Forums. It was pointed out that the obligation of sitting in advisories wasted
valuable time and created a poor image of the school to any visitor. It was suggested that new risers be acquired by the school to create more seating in
the theatre. It was suggested that folding chairs be used to eliminate the need to sit on the floor.
Respectfully Submitted,
