senate minutes for Friday September 29, 2000

minutes were read and approved
-first issue we discussed was the commons. Upper schoolers were not cleaning up after advisory and flex for lower school lunch. if didn't get better mk [Food Service Manager] would close commons to upper schoolers between 8:30 and 12:25.
-9 made a motion which read “I move to close the commons to upper schoolers from 8:30 to 12:20 for one week.” I THINK ir seconded and td brought it to question. did not pass with ps 9 and bb voting in favor and the rest voting against.
-TD moved that “the senate go on record as supporting whatever moves MK makes in the lunchroom.” ir seconded the motion and rh brought it to question. passed with td rh 11 ir 12 gc tl 10 in favor and ps 9 dk bb opposed.
-we agreed to take the message back to our class meetings.
-our second issue was who runs the Monday morning meetings. the question was raised whether people knew they could run it. also, it was noted that a motion was made last year regarding this. we agreed to have me (10) obtain last year's minutes from JM and check.
-meeting adjourned.
